The Sächsisches Textilforschungsinstitut e.V. (STFI) examines a wide range of textile applications and has been an innovation partner and service provider for its customers for over 30 years. Its central services are research & development, testing & certification, teaching & training and transfer. STFI's work focuses on the areas of nonwovens, technical textiles, lightweight textile construction, textile recycling, functionalization, digitalization & Industry 4.0 as well as testing and certification services. The institute's research activities are industry-oriented and application-oriented. It ranges from fiber preparation, surface formation and finishing to textile recycling. The network focuses on investigations into the bioplastic polybutylene succinate (PBS), from the starting material to industrial recyclability. Our institute will be involved in the research work with process development for PBS applications.
