Our involvement with RUBIO

The Plastics Center in Leipzig (KUZ) carries out research and development work for the plastics processing and application industry. Since its foundation in June 1960, the KUZ has developed into a renowned and independent industry institute operating throughout Germany. Research and specialist training are the constant cornerstones of the institute's non-profit status. With the help of industry know-how and methodological expertise, innovation research is carried out in a targeted manner. Current research focuses on lightweight construction, digitalization, miniaturization and technology development for plastics engineering solutions. A sub-area of each focus is the optimization of processes and products with regard to their resource and energy efficiency as well as their sustainability. As part of the joint project, the KUZ will develop a training concept for biopolymer processing that covers all steps within the entire process chain. However, the focus will be on processing methods such as injection molding, compounding, extrusion blow molding, thermoforming and textile technology processes. Current training formats and the further development and integration of digitally supported learning tools are used for this purpose. The medium and long-term goal is to attract and qualify specialists for the processing of the biomaterial PBS.
